Shop of the Month – May
Located between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, Largo and St. Petersburg are two cities in Florida known for their warm weather and constant sunshine. There’s tons of outdoor stuff to do in the area, including trips to parks, walking trails, and visiting botanical gardens. St. Pete Beach is beautiful and always poppin, with a killer nightlife scene to end the day the right way. You’ll find great restaurants, fun bars, and, our Shop of the Month, Strange Cloudz Vapor & Smoke Shop.
Strange Cloudz is family owned and operated, and it’s so popular that they now have two locations! Check ‘em out in both Largo and St. Petersburg for great deals and service to match. The shop has awesome hours that make it super accessible – open every day from 11 am to 11 pm (except on Sundays, when they let their employees rest for an extra hour in the morning). This fully stocked vape and smoke shop is the place to be for kratom, kava, CBD, and, of course, Dime Bags.
It’s not hard to see why this place gets five star reviews across the board – we’re talking hundreds of customers raving about it. Between a great staff, great experience, and great deals, Strange Cloudz is, in a word, f*ckin’ great. They’ll even beat all advertised prices, so you’re sure to get the best quote around.
This is a good shop for people who are new to this kind of thing. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the environment is nothing but friendly. Customers don’t feel intimidated and can freely ask questions – and first time visitors even get a free cup of kratom!
Strange Cloudz even has an online store, where you can browse the staff’s favorites, e-cigs and e-juices, vapes for both concentrates and dry herbs, kratom products, a CBD line, and more. Most of their business comes from return customers. People love the shop, the staff, and the overall vibe so much that they ditch their old place to make this one their usual.
Don’t forget to brush up on Florida’s weed laws if visiting the area, as they’re still pretty strict compared to other states. Medical cannabis didn’t become widely legal in the state until the November 2016 elections, when a bill, Amendment 2, passed with flying colors (71% in favor). Before that, the “Charlotte’s Web” bill was passed in 2014, which allowed for low-THC, high-CBD extracts for a very short list of chronic conditions. The 2016 law said goodbye to the THC restrictions and expanded the program to more terminally ill patients.
However, when Amendment 2 passed, the Senate also passed a bill which created strict regulations – like making it illegal to purchase dried flower and grow weed at home. A law actually passed in 2017 to make smokable cannabis illegal, even medically.
But smoking medical cannabis JUST became legal – on March 18th of this year, through another Senate Bill which amended the medical cannabis program.
Recreational cannabis is still illegal, and possession has yet to be decriminalized. If you’re caught with 20 grams or less, you’ll get hit with a misdemeanor and have to pay a fine, serve jail time, or maybe both. And you sure as hell don’t want to get caught with over 20 grams, or they’ll give you a felony charge and label you as a criminal.
