If you’re a lover of craft beer and art in Denver, you’ve probably already been to the River North Art District, a.k.a the RiNo District. This trendy Denver neighborhood is a growing hotspot for eclectic venues and quirky restaurants. There is no shortage of craft breweries and photo opportunities in RiNo, even enough to exhaust the most dedicated hipsters.

The RiNo District is known for its concentration of art galleries and colorful murals. Nearly everywhere you look, you can expect to see a building adorned with paint or graffiti. Needless to say, this neighborhood has attracted the attention of many people looking for some dope photos and unique eats.

Although the RiNo district is popular now, it wasn’t always that way… in fact, the RiNo District was once the hub of Denver's’ local economy until businesses began to move to the core of the city in the 1980’s. When this happened, the North River Neighborhood warehouses stood empty and vacancy rates became quite affordable. With the lowered prices came the flock of local artists, taking up residency and stamping the district with impressive street art. 🎨

Breweries, restaurants, and markets have also taken advantage of these prices, revamping the old industrial buildings into fashionable hot spots. When you wine and dine at these locations, you feel a sense of community and urban charm. This part of town still clings to its punk-rock roots and creativity which not only offers a unique vibe within Denver, but it makes for some damn cool experiences! This has undoubtedly made the RiNo district one of the most buzzing and up-and-coming neighborhoods in Denver. 🌆

RiNo Photo Ops

In the past 10 years, social media has taken this society by storm with the rise of influencers and creators. Anyone could have their big break on the internet. But no, we’re not here to get into all the pros and cons of social media. However, with this boom of online presence has come the desire to take pictures… We mean a LOT of pictures.

There is no lack of photo opportunities in the RiNo district. In fact, here at Dime Bags we have utilized this neighborhood a handful of times for our own photoshoots. Can you tell we’re really into the urban graffiti vibes? If you’re looking for a spot to take your next Instagram photos, we definitely recommend roaming the streets of RiNo and snapping a few pics for your feed! No matter what your personal style is, there’s definitely a mural out there that will resonate with you.

The mural pictured below is titled Larimer Boy and Girl by the Colorado artist, Jeremy Burns. It’s a creative and very trippy mural that you can only see fully from an angle. It’s unique art like this that makes the RiNo district such a beloved neighborhood and tourist attraction in Denver.
